Seven years ago, I took the plunge and began to make bears and bunnies.  I made stuffed animals for my boys when they were young; however, as a single working parent, I did not have time to pursue my long held dream of creating Teddy Bears.  When the boys became adults and I remarried, my spouse encouraged me to pursue my dream.  We moved to the "high country" where we still have deer, elk, javalina and an occasional bear in our yard.

With Bill's help we began Cher's Bears.  I wish I had that first bear; boy, what a disaster!  I kept at it and today enjoy designing, sewing, and traveling with Cher's "bears and hares".  I make my cuddly critters in sizes ranging from 9" to 18" and use mohair, alpaca, and other natural furs.  I derive great pleasure in converting a natural fur coat or stole into a family heirloom.  All natural fur bears and bunnies are lined to help ensure their durability.  I also knit sweaters, tams and scarves to order for the bears.  I love traveling across the country to bear shows.  It is fun meeting other artists and customers across the country.
