I've always had a creative nature and have enjoyed handcrafted projects of many kinds. In 1990, after making just one teddy bear with a friend and watching it come to life, all of my other interests took a back seat. Over the next year, my creative focus turned to teddy bears and I was soon creating my own designs. With each new bear my passion increased. In 1991, I met and married my husband, Chris, an artist in his own right, and my staunchest supporter. Chris convinced me to take my creations to The Hugging Bear Inn & Shop, in Chester, VT. It was there that I was introduced to the world of teddy bear shows, exclusive teddy bear shops, and numerous, wonderful teddy bear collectors and artists. |

Over the past ten years, my creations have been added to collections
around the world, and have been featured in magazines and newspaper articles.
My greatest thrill was having one of my bears chosen to grace the cover of
the popular international magazine, Teddy Bear Scene. |

My creations are made mostly of imported German mohair and alpaca fur, and I have also made special teddy bears from heirloom fur coats. Hand blown, German Glass orbs, or antique shoe buttons, are used for the eyes. The bears are fully jointed, and have hand embroidered noses, ultra suede paw pads, and are stuffed with silky soft stuffing, glass pellets, and/or copper shot, for weight. Some bears are dressed, but most are simply adorned with a ribbon. Teddy bears made after 9-11 proudly wear an American flag stitched near the back of their neck (heirloom fur coat bears excluded). Most of my bears are 'adult collectables' and are not child safe. "Creative Efforts", is the trade name jointly shared with my husband. I design and make artist bears, while Chris paints farm scenes and teddy bears.
